Back to School Outfits 2017 | Casual to Dressy

A new school year is a new beginning, and you gotta start the year with the cutest outfits for school! It’s only been a little over a year since I graduated college, so I still miss buying new clothes for the new school year. The beginning of the school year was also when I was the most put together, because by the end of the semester, I pretty much lived in leggings and sweatshirts (do you even go to college if you don’t look like that by the end of the semester?). Today I will be rounding up a bunch of my outfits from Instagram! If you like an outfit on my Instagram, outfit details will always be updated in the SHOP tab on my blog so you can get the deets asap! We will start with the casual outfits then move onto the dressier ones, let’s begin : )

This is the most basic outfit and you can never go wrong with something like this! I wore this outfit to Osheaga and blogged about it here. The American Apparel jean shorts are not available anymore, but any pair of jean shorts will do! I have been living in these white sneakers and they seriously match with everything! You will be seeing this pair a lot in this post, even in the dressier outfits.

These are my go-to workout shoes! I will be doing a blog post about how I stay healthy in New York City on Wednesday and will link it here.

adidas sneakers (also available here and here) / similar + more affordable here

This is another version of the crop top and shorts with the same belt and white sneakers! It is a little trendier because of the gingham and this outfit is perfect for a hot summer day! The only thing is that the top was a little loose on me (I always wear XS for this brand), but wearing a strapless bra instead of my nipple covers helped keep the shirt up.

You can never go wrong with a comfy t-shirt, and this one is seriously soo soft! This exact color with the blue embroidered flowers is out of stock, but there are many other options in the same fabric! I wore this t-shirt with my black jean shorts from a long time ago, but you can’t even see the shorts in this photo haha.

Super soft t-shirt (similar here) / White sneakers / Longchamp backpack

Okay, I realize that this is not school appropriate, but if you go to college and do not have a dress code, you can always wear your one-piece swimsuits with a pair of jean shorts! I styled an outfit like that here. These two are both super affordable! I blogged about another one-piece swimsuit here.

This outfit really is just another one of those shirt and shorts type of outfits, but it looks a lot dressier because it is a one-shoulder top and paper-bag shorts! I finished the look with a pair of black wedges from a random boutique, but you can totally rock this outfit in the same white sneakers I have been talking about. I love paper-bag shorts because they elongate your legs and emphasizes your waist-line!

A cardigan is a MUST for back to school, because it always gets really cold in the classrooms. Schools would save so much money by not blasting the AC haha. For more photos of this look, see the blog post here.

DETAILS

Black cardigan / Pin-striped jumpsuit / Stuart Weitzman shoes (similar + more affordable here)

I looove rompers because they are so easy to throw on and very easy to dress up or dress down. I wore this romper during my housewarming party and paired them with some heels, but it also works so well with white sneakers. I love the scalloped detail and it makes a simple black romper so much cuter!

This is another outfit that is easily dressed up and dressed down. I love the gingham print and the one-shoulder detail! You can tie the one-shoulder detail to fit your body. For more photos of this look, see the blog post here.

This is definitely my most-worn dress this summer because it is so easy to throw on and is so summery! It comes in a few solid colors and other floral patterns, and it is also on sale now! I also love the nude/camel colored sandals because they slightly elongate my legs without being difficult to walk in. Plus, I did not have to break them in!

This is a look from my 48 Hours in Montreal, but I forgot to post this photo in the blog post. I paired this off-the-shoulder dress with my white sneakers, and unbuttoned to bottom to be scandalous (jk, it was just cute and the dress is not thaat short). I love that the sneakers make this bodycon dress super casual!

Last but not least, this beautiful red dress! Again, I dressed it down with white sneakers (this pair also comes in a platform version here). It was a casual stroll in Central Park and I love that the red pops with all the greenery! This straw tote is perfect for picnics, by the pool, groceries, and more. There are a lot of similar red dresses here, here, and here. This front tie detail is super trendy now!
