I was in the Bay Area a couple of weekends ago and am finally blogging about it! It was a pretty short trip and I only had two full days there, but my friends helped me make the most of it. I had a list of touristy spots I wanted to hit up in San Francisco, so my friend Elissa put together an itinerary for our day trip and it was perf! Now off to the fun stuff : )
On Friday, I worked from a cafe in Berkeley called Artis (and the latte was too cute so I had to take a picture of it). I had a few virtual meetings during the day, so it was a pretty normal day – cafe, brunch, cafe. The second cafe was Philz, where I ordered the Mint Mojito, and it was so delicious. If you’re ever near a Philz, order it, even though it’s supposedly called the basic girl drink. For dinner, I met up with some high school friends for a reunion and it was so amazing catching up with everyone. Two of them I have known for 16 years!! Thanks to Elissa, Angela, Ted, and Richard for coming out <3
Saturday was the San Francisco day trip! We took the BART and then ubered to Bob’s Donuts for THE WORLDS BIGGEST DONUT <3 I fell in love!! It was actually really delicious. I thought it was going to be too sweet and greasy and just something you Instagram, but the sweetness wasn’t overpowering and the dough was super fluffy. Getting the chocolate glaze was a good idea because the crumble one would’ve been wayyy too messy to eat.
Next stop – Golden Gate Bridge. It’s kind of a must-see if it’s your first time in San Francisco. It was overcast and slightly foggy that day, so it was perfect for pictures! For outfit details, check out my blog post here.
Funny story. I was in Orlando the weekend before I went to San Francisco, and I bumped into the kids of Fuller House at Magic Kingdom. We snapped a photo together so I could obsess about how adorable they are and made it my cover photo on my private Facebook page with the caption “I’m Lola’s older sister and will be in season 3 of Fuller House! Get your Netflix subscription now!!” and for some reason people actually believed it! My friends texted me to ask if it was true and people commented “Congrats” and everything. It was pretty funny haha. Anyways, I had to go check out the original Full House house : ) They are actually called the Painted Ladies.
In the afternoon, we hit up Japan Town and the Women’s March. There weren’t as many people as I expected, but everyone’s spirit was there and there were some very creative signs.
On Sunday I only had time for brunch, and then I had to catch my flight back to Milwaukee for work. I had an amazing time in Berkeley and San Francisco and hope to go back again for a longer trip! Thanks for stopping by : )
