I am one of those girls who goes to Starbucks on the day the red cups come out, no shame. However, getting Starbucks coffee, especially seasonal drinks, can get very expensive. Soooo make your own at home! It honestly tastes just like the one from Starbucks, you know exactly what goes in it, and it’s super easy!
Ingredients for one serving
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice (I use almond milk)
- 1 cup coffee
- 1/8 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Whipped cream
- Peppermint candy (optional)
In a saucepan add in your milk, coffee, and chocolate. Stir and let it simmer for two minutes.
Turn the heat off and add in peppermint extract. Stir and pour into mug.
Top it with whipped cream and garnish with crushed peppermint candy and grated chocolate chips.
Enjoy with some delicious chocolate waffles!
Once you know how to make your own peppermint mocha, you won’t want to pay for the original. I love that coffee and peppermint make the chocolate flavor pop (and that this drink has caffeine). This recipe multiplies really well, so you can make more if you have friends over! I hope you enjoy this decadent and satisfying drink and thanks for stopping by : )
