January Outfit Diary

Happy first day of February! Last year I always ended the month with a favorites post, but I thought I’d change it up this year and do monthly outfit diaries to recap on some outfits that I don’t talk about in detail in other posts. I will still be posting about my favorites, but will be doing it seasonally instead of monthly. There are ten outfits in this post, so let’s begin!

My friends and I bought matching sneakers! The other one was the one who took this photo haha. These New Balance sneakers have been my go-to travel shoes this month and I know they can say the same. It is so comfortable and also great for working out! My black knee-ripped jeans from Asos are the same ones that I wear all the time. The rest of the outfit is to keep me super warm – black coat from Aritztia and scarf from Nordstrom Rack (both old).

If you follow me on Instagram, this white grid coat is old news (it also comes in black). I wore it over a super soft and fuzzy beige sweater from Urban Outfitters, and this thing keeps me super warm even though it is slightly cropped. It basically looks like a teddy bear sweater! The jeans are the same jeans that I talked about in my previous post, and I was wearing black booties that day. My Ted Baker bag is an old one from three years ago.

I have worn this pink faux fur coat a couple of different ways since I bought it over Black Friday from Pretty Little Thing. It is a very affordable brand and I like it more than Forever21. In the first photo I’m just wearing my trusty black cashmere turtleneck from Uniqlo and ripped-hem jeans from Lucky Brand. In the second photo I worn it over my choker jumper from White Fox Boutique, threw on some faux leather leggings, and finished the look with my burgundy over-the-knee boots. Most of these items have been recycled over and over again, but the pop of pink makes an old outfit look new!

You can never go wrong with a long sleeve top and jeans! My striped long sleeve with fuzzy heart details has been my go-to because it gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling (super cheesy sorry). The jeans with ripped knees are the same ones I talked about in my previous post because I have been wearing them a ton! I have been pairing the jeans with my double circle belt, and finished the look with my white sneakers from Superga. Mine do not have a platform, but there is a version with a platform.

I cannot count the number of times I have worn this white sweater dress, and I always seem to wear it the same way – with my taupe over-the-knee boots. There is something about the color combination that makes me gravitate toward wearing my taupe boots over my burgundy or black ones. The sweater dress is actually labeled as a tunic online, but I don’t have any curves so it works as a dress for me haha. If you are taller or are blessed with curves, definitely size up! The lipstick I’m wearing is this one in Joli Rouge.

This colorblock cardigan is so easy to throw on any simple outfit and it makes it look like you put more effort than you actually did. It is from a brand called Goodnight Macaroon (reviewed the brand here). This outfit without the cardigan is not the most interesting – black cashmere sweater, ripped-hem blue jeans, and white leather sneakers. Once you throw on the cardigan, it adds some dimension to it.

This red sweater dress is on sale for more than 50% off! Mine is from Tobi and I always get a lot of compliments when I wear it. Tobi is another website that I love shopping at because there is so much to choose from, and shipping and returns are super easy!

All bundled up! I have been loving this black faux fur jacket because it is lightweight but also keeps me warm (and so so soft). It also comes in cream. More about this outfit in my previous post.

I really want to talk about this skirt! I learned that the pattern is called ‘houndstooth’ and I have been attracted to so many things that are in this pattern. I paired it with a red cashmere sweater for a pop of color, and kept myself warm in my Kate Spade coat. And of course, my Stuart Weitzman black over-the-knee boots.

This is another outfit that has many items that I wear all the time. The same white sweater dress and taupe over-the-knee boots from a previous outfit, same multi-color grid scarf from a bunch of outfits, and same Chloe bag that I love to use. What really makes this outfit is my blue coat from Cole Haan! The blue color really pops in the winter months when everyone else is wearing black coats. I was so glad to find this on sale during Black Friday and it has been sold out for a while, but click here for more options! You can sign up and follow me on the app to get all my outfit details! Or you can go to the shop tab on my blog.

And that wraps up my January outfit diary! I hope you enjoyed this and got some inspiration. I am heading home to Taiwan this month and am so excited to see my parents, and will definitely be sharing my travels on the blog. Thank you so much for stopping by 🙂
