Layering | Spring Fashion

Last Monday was the first day of SPRING! Spring fashion tends to be overlooked because it’s that awkward stage between winter and summer, but I love it for just that reason. It’s the time for light jackets layered over cute summer clothes. Today I am sharing five layering combinations for spring, featuring my outerwear favorites this season : )

A light trench is a must for spring. Whether it’s light camel, pale gray, blush pink, or white, a light trench is a great piece to throw over your outfit and look put together. Last weekend I wore a light trench cape, which is also a great option. I love this gray scalloped trench from Club Monaco, and many of their trenches are on sale now! I paired it with a casual summer outfit and dressed it up with some heels.

Next up is a jean jacket. Need I say more? I got mine from Zara last spring, and I like that it has a little bit of distressed detail. It actually has ‘FEARLESS’ embroidered in red on the back, but you can always add your own embroidery to your jean jacket – super trendy now! I paired it with an olive t-shirt dress and my favorite booties at the moment. I love the cut-out V detail : )

I think bomber jackets are still trendy? Tbh, I’m not too sure, but I still love rocking mine. They are easy to throw on and super comfortable to wear. I love mine from Showpo because it is also a great transitional piece in the fall. I got mine last fall and am excited to wear it more this spring! I paired it with a bodysuit, jean shorts, and white sneakers – very casual.

Next up is a leather jacket! Mine is a vegan leather jacket gifted by Coalition LA and it fits so well! It also has a peplum detail on the bottom, which adds some flare to the jacket. I actually did a giveaway on my Instagram last week and gave out two of those jackets, so remember to follow me there for more giveaways : ) If you are in the New York City area, you can pick up the exact jacket at Easy Pickins located in the Garment District. I paired mine with a very comfortable set from Chicwish and a pair of lace-up wedges. This is a great day-to-night outfit, because during the day you can rock your two-piece set and throw on the leather jacket at night when you go out. Also, this set is so comfy that it feels like I’m wearing pajamas haha.

And finally, a rain coat. April showers bring May flowers. I love mine from Topshop because of it’s vibrant color and pin stripe details. It’s also great quality and very lightweight, so when it stops raining, you can tie it around your waist or just carry around without it being very heavy. Okay, it was not raining during this photoshoot, but the last photo is representative of what I would be like when it stops raining haha.

I hope you enjoyed my five layering combinations for spring! (And I did not forget about the trusty cardigan, honorable mention here.) I have actually really been enjoying the overcast weather in New York City recently, probably because it’s the perfect weather for light jackets. Happy Sunday and hope you had an amazing weekend! Thank you for stopping by : )
