Mixing Cheap and Expensive | OOTD

It was a beautiful weekend in New York City. 50 degrees, blue skies, and sunshine in January is very rare for us east-coasters, so it was definitely a treat. I had the most ideal weekend ever as well, with a mix of alone time and time with friends. On Saturday, I had afternoon for the first time in the Big Apple at Bosie. Three of us shared the tea time for two, and it was the perfect amount of food and tea. The three sandwich flavors we got were smoked salmon, egg salad, and cucumber – all super delicious! I really liked the Egyptian chamomile tea we got too. On Sunday, I went to a friend’s housewarming and birthday party and sent another friend off to the airport.

It is currently Sunday night and I’m sitting on my couch, playing Netflix on my chromecast, and munching on some chocolate from Sockerbit. If you’re ever around West Village, I recommend stopping by to get some candy and chocolate! I finished all the gummy candies yesterday, which is why I only have chocolate left haha. My favorite show right now is New Girl! Rewatching it and it’s just so good!! What is your favorite TV show at the moment?

This outfit is a mix of cheap and expensive things that I own, ranging from $7.49 to $798.00. I love mixing affordable and more luxury pieces together because the more expensive pieces make the more affordable pieces look more expensive. Usually my more affordable pieces are also what’s trendy at the moment because I don’t want to spend a ton on something that I’m only going to wear for a year or two.

My white mockneck is what I like to wear with skirts or under summer dresses during the chillier months. Blue corduroy skirt is something I bought this weekend and I had to wear it immediately (also comes in yellow)! My coat is actually from Goodwill for $7.49 and it was seriously such a great find! I found some similar coats and linked them below. Lastly, my black over-the-knee boots are the splurge item in this outfit. I have talked about these boots way too many times, as well as the best dupe I found (I have this in taupe and burgundy). You can click on the photos below to shop the items and click the arrows for more!

Now it is time to get ready for the week. I hope you had an amazing weekend and thank you so much for stopping by!
