My Skincare Routine

I have always struggled with my sensitive combination skin, but it has been getting better recently so I thought I’d share my skincare routine here! I have a 9-5 job from Monday to Friday, so I try to keep my skincare routine pretty simple : )

The first thing I do at night is take my makeup off with Neutrogena makeup remover cleansing towelettes, because they are fragrance-free and removes my makeup very quickly. It doesn’t irritate my skin like the ones that smell nice. Next, I will use one of my three face washes. I probably use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash two to three times a week to exfoliate my skin. However, I wouldn’t say this really combats acne, but I have been using this for almost three years and it exfoliates very well. On the nights when I don’t exfoliate my face, I will use the Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Cleansing Foam with my Vanity Planet tool (similar to a Clarisonic but cheaper and better, I’ve tried both). Not sure how well the foam brightens my skin yet (have been using this for more than a month now), but it definitely cleanses well and works well with the tool. The tool comes with four heads/brushes but so far I’ve only used the face cleansing one. It gets out any leftover makeup and cleanses my skin very well. It also isn’t too harsh on the skin, so that’s a plus! Lastly, I use the L’occitane Precious Cleansing Foam (lol ‘precious’) in the morning because it’s less harsh on the skin and the mousse texture is very refreshing.

On some nights (1-3 times a week), I will use a face mask to relax. The Origins Original Skin Retexturizing mask with Rose Clay is not only pink, but it also deep cleans and refines the skin’s texture. I purchased this mask on Sephora eight months ago because it was pink, but it actually does make my skin smoother and more refreshed. The best thing about it is that it does not sting my face. The Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding Intensive Wash-Off Treatment is suppose to minimize pores, but since I have only been using this for about a month, I can’t say if it actually does minimize pores (will do a review when I have used this more!). As I mentioned in a previous post, I have also been using Dr Jart+ sheet masks and will be purchasing more to try!

I recently purchased the Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion and have been using it every other day. It does sting my face a little, which is probably why I don’t use it everyday. I shake up the product and use it with a cotton pad to clear dead surface cells. I haven’t broke out from it yet, so so far so good!

The next two products I have been using for years and swear by them. Usually at night I will use the Physiogel Hypoallergenic Calming Relief A.I. Lotion after I wash my face (sometimes after a face mask), and in the morning I will use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel because it is less rich and dries matte.

This wraps up my skincare routine! It is pretty simple and fast, so perfect for someone who is working. My skin is not perfect, but it has been improving. I still struggle with acne sometimes (that time of the month) and have discoloration. If you have any products that combat discoloration, please let me know in the comments below! As always, thank you for stopping by : )
