New Year’s Resolutions 2017

The whole “new year new me” thing is such a cliché, but I think it’s a good idea to start the new year with the goals you want to accomplish this year. While it is true that you can set goals anytime during the year, the beginning of the year is a time when most of us seem to have more motivation. Many of my resolutions are probably ones that everyone talks about, but I have specific plans of how I will tackle them. I look forward to seeing how many of my goals I can accomplish this year!

Exercise more. Everyone wants to get fit, especially after our holiday weight gain. I want to start with some zumba classes (because I miss going to them and I’m weak now), and then work my way to doing PIIT28 again. It’s important to ease my way to working out multiple times a week.

Eat healthier. Cook at home more and try new recipes. I’m not one to count calories, but I do know that eating home-cooked meals is less calories than eating out.

Blogging goals. A blog post schedule of at least two posts every week and daily Instagram posts. Better content, better photos, better blog : )

Learn more skills. Photoshop, Lightroom, and CSS for blogging; Hadoop and Python for work. Gotta keep learning even after I’m done with school!

Finance better. I am going to do this by first cleaning out my marketing emails and abiding by my own shopping rules. I have been pretty good at keeping track of my spending on an Excel spreadsheet, but I need to check my spending weekly and monthly. The goal is to save money for the future (and to buy the things I really want to buy).

Implement new habits. I’ve been reading a book about habits and the two I want to implement are reading more and doing a five-minute stretch every morning.

Travel more. Travel somewhere, whether old or new, at least once every two months! Travel wishlist coming up soon 🙂

Think less. This is going along with one of the things I learned in 2016. I don’t have to plan everything and have to be more flexible sometimes.

We will accomplish our goals together this year! Thanks for stopping by : )

Think less! Yeas, why is it so hard to clam your brain down? Same thing here girl. Sometimes essential oils help me, have you ever used lavender oil? I also LOVE your start new habits goal. Brilliant!

I was never one to make resolution, but ever since I took up blogging I felt that I needed to at least set some sort of goal so that I don’t slack off when life gets too chaotic. Good post!

Yes! Blogging is a hobby of mine but it’s important to be consistent with your hobbies 🙂

These are great goals. I too have the goal of blogging more and posting more on social media. I also have the goal of losing moe weight I lost 30lbs last year and have another 40 to go to get rest of pregnancy weight off.

  13. January 5, 2017 / 2:36 PM

I certainly want to exercise more and eat more cleaning especially after cheating so much during the holidays haha! You have great goals for yourself 🙂

  14. January 5, 2017 / 4:05 PM

I really like how you broke your goals down into different areas of your life. Zumba is so fun!!! I need to start doing it again because I really enjoy it. It makes me let loose because I have a hard time doing that in public.

    • January 5, 2017 / 6:07 PM

Thank you! Zumba is probably my fav workout haha

  15. January 5, 2017 / 5:29 PM

Definitely more motivation. and a good time to partner up with friends and family with the same goals.

  17. January 5, 2017 / 6:01 PM

Think less is what stuck out to me the most. I think that is the next thing I need to work on.

  18. January 5, 2017 / 6:44 PM

I really want to become a better cook and save some money this year so I’m also resolving to eat at home more. You’re right that it’s definitely a lot healthier!

  19. January 6, 2017 / 5:46 AM

I’m with you on the whole better content and posting daily on Instagram. I think many of us forget that good, clear photos is what drives engagement.

Great Goals you have set. Main thing is to keep pushing through them even if you take a step back. The journey should be enjoyed as much as the end result

Those are some well thought out new years resolutions. They are pretty similar to my own but I think I’ll add the blogging skills/Photoshop/CCS to my list.
