How I Stay Healthy in New York City | Kissbobo

Hello friends! It’s almost the end of summer, but that doesn’t mean our fitness routine and healthy eating habits come to an end. It has been a little over a year since I moved to New York City and I am finally ready to share how I maintain a healthy lifestyle in the city. Everyone’s definition of a healthy lifestyle is different. For me,  it’s the lifestyle that makes me happy : ) Since I travel a lot for work, life get’s really hectic sometimes, but I do my best to balance it all. Let’s see my tips for staying healthy in NYC!

BUY CUTE WORKOUT CLOTHES

When I wear cute workout clothes, it motivates me to workout more. Why does that work? Probably because I need a reason to wear my new clothes : ) I love this sports bra from Kissbobo for many reasons. It has a criss cross detail on the back, with a 4 hook extender to adjust to your underbust. You can also adjust the straps so that the straps do not slip off when you’re doing more intense activities. What I like the most about this sports bra is that it is very comfortable! FIND THE FITNESS ROUTINE THAT WORKS FOR YOU

Everyone’s body is different and we all like different things, so it makes sense that your workout routine is different from mine. I mentioned in previous monthly favorites that I use ClassPass to workout. It has been over two years since I started using this website! With a ClassPass membership, you gain access to many different types of workouts, like zumba, yoga, HIIT, and more. It’s a great way to add variety to your workout and to discover new classes to take in the city you’re in. My three favorite workouts in New York City are Mind Body Bootcamp at Circuit of Change, Zumba at Crunch Gym, and Barre at Chelsea Piers. In my spare time, I also like to do Blogilates!

WALK AS MUCH AS YOU CAN

I am so thankful that New York City is very walkable. Instead of ubering around or taking the subway, I like to take time to walk home after brunch and explore new spots and neighborhoods. Especially during the warmer months! For the most part, I only take the subway when it takes less than half the time to walk (when it’s below freezing and snowing, it’s a different story). Walking also saves money!

IT’S ALL ABOUT BALANCE

New York has so much indulgent food to offer and I definitely have my fair share of delicious meals. I do not deprive myself from donuts, dollar pizza, and all the yummy goods, but I also eat my veggies and proteins. Basically, I do not count calories because it makes me feel guilty for eating an instagrammable dessert. Trust me, it will make you happier the next time you sip on a boba milk tea. It is all about balance!

    Wearing cute workout clothes is def a great motivator haha! Luckily Toronto is walkable as well because it’s pretty much how I stay fit – I have a gym membership but I’m always too lazy to go lol!
