Three Skirts for Winter

Welcome to day 5 of #12DaysOfKimber!

Today I am rounding up my three favorite skirts to wear this winter. It hasn’t been freezing cold in New York City yet, so I am able to get away with showing some leg and not wear tights with these skirts. Believe it or not, I still wear skirts when it’s 20 degrees out, but I will put on some wool tights underneath to keep me warm. These three skirts all have some thickness to them, which make them perfect for the colder months. However, they are skirts after all, so don’t expect them to keep you as warm as leggings or sweatpants. Keep on reading until the end for a small fashion tip! Let’s begin 🙂

Plaid wrap skirt (similar here) / Black cashmere turtleneck / Black wrap coat / Black knee-high boots (on sale)

This first one is a plaid wrap skirt (similar here). It is actually a faux wrap skirt because all you have to do is tie the bow, but if the bow loosens up during the day, you won’t flash anyone. I love the plaid pattern on this skirt and have been wearing this since early fall actually. This one is definitely the least warm of all three skirts, which is why I added some thigh-high socks under my boots for some extra warmth. I wanted to the focus of this outfit to be the skirt, so I kept everything else pretty minimal. My top is a cashmere turtleneck and it is one of my favorite sweaters to wear (if I am ever wearing a black turtleneck on Instagram, it is this one). My boots are simple knee-high boots (currently on sale for 40% off) with a pointed toe to lengthen the legs. Finally, my black wrap coat is from Showpo and it’s great to throw on any outfit.

Houndstooth skirt / Red cashmere sweater (also available in v-neck, both on sale) / Stuart Weitzman OTK boots (more affordable here) / White fluffy scarf (on sale) / Chloe bag

This houndstooth skirt is my favorite out of the three! It is from a brand called Goodnight Macaroon (see here for haul and review of the brand). It has a lining inside and the pattern is perfect for winter. I have worn it with so many different sweaters, and it pretty much matches with anything. I decided to go with a festive red this day! I have raved about this red cashmere sweater so many times already since I got it last year, and I now have it in two colors (currently on sale for 20% off). I finished the look with my Stuart Weitzman boots, Chloe bag, and American Eagle scarf (currently on sale for 50% off). For the over-the-knee boots, I wanted to mentioned this pair, which is way more affordable. I have this one in both burgundy and taupe!

Camel A-line skirt / Anthropologie sweater (sold out, similar here) / Ecco booties / Daniel Wellington watch + cuff

This camel skirt is another one from Goodnight Macaroon. I love that it is structured and has some thickness to it to keep me warm. For some reason, many structured skirts do not fit me properly, but this one has the perfect A-line and length! I kept this outfit pretty neutral with my Anthropologie sweater (sold out), but I have to talk about these booties! They are from Ecco and they are my favorite booties at the moment. It has a cushion inside so I can walk in them for an entire day. I actually went Black Friday shopping in the city in these shoes! Finally, I put on my rose gold Daniel Wellington watch and matching cuff to add some bling to this outfit. You can get 15% off your watch with code KIMBER15.

I hope you enjoyed these outfits! I try to not have more than three or four colors in my outfit, and if I up to four colors, it’s probably because three out of four of them are black, white, and gray – all very neutral. Pretty sure I read that in an article once to not have more than three or four colors in an outfit, and ever since then, I’ve been somewhat paying attention to that when I put my outfits together. Of course, it’s not a strict rule or anything!
