Valentine’s Baking

I don’t think I’m alone when I say that the month of February brings out the girly girl in me (well, even more of the girly girl haha). I find myself fantasizing about princessy moments and watching more romantic comedies than I normally do. It’s also lovely that everything is PINK! You know what I’m talking about – Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! I previously blogged about Valentine’s gift and date ideas, and today I am collaborating with Sandra Tsai from When She Wanders to show you our adorable Valentine’s treats. She baked some delicious earl grey shortbread cookies with a V-day twist (yummm) and I whipped up some sugar cookies with fun Valentine’s sayings!

All you need is some Valentine’s themed colored icing, an icing writer, some sugar cookies, a heart-shaped cookie cutter, and creativity! You can use a homemade sugar cookie recipe, but I really like the Betty Crocker mixes because they are delicious and super easy to make.

Once the cookies cool down, you can start decorating! Whether you’re baking this for friends or with friends, it’s a fun activity for a Sunday afternoon : )

Of course, I munched on the icing and went on my phone during the process oops.

I gotta be honest, writing with icing is not as easy as it looks on YouTube, but practice makes perfect, right? I used conversation hearts as inspiration for the sayings, but added a modern twist to it! You can customize the sayings for whoever you are giving these to. The ‘Netflix and Chill’ ones are probably my favorites.

I had to do a little photoshoot for my cookies! My ‘Good Vibes’ pillow that was sitting on my couch is from Urban Outfitters and you can shop my outfit deets on my new SHOP page!

Aren’t these treats adorable? Your sweetheart (or your friend or yourself) would be so lucky to wake up to a batch of these on Valentine’s morning! Plus, they are delicious to munch on even after Valentine’s Day. As always, thanks for stopping by : )
